Lion cub in Etosha Park

Why These EcoSafaris
Are Unique and Diverse

Experience great wildlife and desert scenery as you drive to incredible  African destinations. One constant attraction is the night skies south of the equator, with the Milky Way and Southern Cross, which are magnificent beyond words.  At the Sossusvlei Lodge, you'll be able to dine out under the stars.  The rooms and cuisine are outstanding, and the best available in the areas we visit.

The Namib Desert is the world's oldest and most beautiful desert. You'll first enjoy the remote  Wolwedans Dune Camp  and the Sossusvlei Lodge for striking Namib Desert vistas and the world's highest sand dunes. Then visit Swakopmund, an old resort town with German cultural and architectural history, and shopping bargains on jewelry, gems, and handicrafts.

To get close-up views of the African wildlife in world-famous Etosha National Park, our guides take you on game drives for three days. In Etosha, you will have a chance to photograph elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs rhinos, and  many other species.  We are one of the few tour operators allowed to take viewers through the restricted western half of Etosha Park.

Kavita Lion Lodge has resident lions and is the home of our partner for lion conservation, the Afri-Leo Foundation of Namibia.  Okonjima is a  predator sanctuary and rehabilitation center, and a great resort. You are sure to see cheetahs and lions there, with a good chance to view leopards. Spend the final night at the superb Hotel Castle Heinitzburg, the highest-rated hotel in Namibia.

"We walked a few hundred yards to a spot that allowed us to watch the sun sink below the mountains and then cast the purple, yellow and red hues across the mountains and the dunes.  It was spectacular!  Since it was the full moon, we simply turned our backs to the sun and watched the moon come up through the saddle of two mountains - moonrise and sunset all in less than 10 minutes."

 The Purpose of These Safaris

EcoVitality is a  group set up to preserve ecosystems and in remote rural areas of poor nations, where most of the Earth's biodiversity is located. Because  we believe nearly all other conservation strategies have been failing, we are using a more realistic economic-incentives  approach that helps people in poor remote areas get what they want, better economic welfare, in return for their help in getting what we want, more conservation progress.

We're applying this economics approach by offering superb wildlife safaris and using the profits from these safaris to fund conservation programs in partnership with the Afri-Leo Foundation of Namibia. Our unique eco-safaris are operated in partnership with Honeyguide Safaris, a  tour- guide company run by Hobby Kreiner, one of Namibia's leading professional guides and environmentalists.
