Why These Eco-Safaris Our fly-in and driving safaris are perfect for those with a desire to see as much as possible of what Africa has to offer within a two-week timeframe (including the int'l air flights). Experience incredible scenery, fascinating cultural encounters, and great wildlife viewing as you fly or drive to an extraordinary new destination each day. A special attraction every day is the night skies below the equator with the Milky Way and Southern Cross, which are magnificent beyond words. At the opulent Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge, you'll have your own telescope to observe the stars. The accommodations and the cuisine are outstanding, and always the best available in the areas we visit. The Namib Desert is the world's oldest and probably the most beautiful. You'll first enjoy the unique Wolwedans Dune Camp and Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge for striking Namib Desert vistas and the world's highest dunes. Then visit Swakopmund, a resort town with a Germanic cultural and architectural history and great shopping bargains on jewelry, gems, and handicrafts. Enjoy spectacular Epupa Falls and learn about the Himba tribe’s culture and traditions. To get close views of the incredible wildlife in world-famous Etosha National Park, our guides take you on game drives for three days. In Etosha, you will have a chance to view lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and many other diverse species. At luxurious Ongava Camp, you'll explore central Etosha and can view both white and black rhino. Okonjima is a beautiful resort, predator rehabilitation center, and the home of the Afri-Cat Foundation. You are sure to see lions and cheetahs there, with a good chance to view leopards. Spend the final night at the superb Hotel Castle Heinitzburg, Namibia's highest-rated hotel with the best-rated restaurant. You'll be able to tour Windhoek, the capital, and shop in some of the best handicrafts and jewelry stores before your return flight. |

"We walked a few hundred yards to a spot that allowed us to watch the sun
sink below the mountains and then cast the purple, yellow and red hues
across the mountains and the dunes. It was spectacular! Since
it was the full moon, we simply turned our backs to the sun and watched
the moon come up through the saddle of two mountains - moonrise and sunset
all in less than 10 minutes."

The Purpose of These Safaris EcoVitality is a non-profit environmental group set up to protect ecosystems and wildlife in remote rural areas of poor countries, where most of Earth's biodiversity is located. Because all the familiar conservation strategies have been failing, we're using a incentives approach that helps people in poor rural areas get what they want, better economic welfare, in return for their help in getting what we want, better conservation progress. We're apply this economics approach by offering superb wildlife safaris and using the profits to fund lion conservation programs in partnership with the Afri-Leo Foundation of Namibia. Our unique eco-safaris are operated in partnership with Honeyguide Safaris, a professional tour-guide company run by Hobby Kreiner, one of Namibia's leading environmentalists. |
