Lion cub in Etosha Park

Why These Safaris Are Special

Our fly-in safaris to Epupa Falls and Etosha Park are perfect for those with limited vacation time and a desire to see much of what Africa has to offer. This "highlights" safari allows you to enjoy awesome desert scenery and great wildlife encounters as you fly to a fascinating new destination each day.  A special attraction every day is the night skies below the equator with the Milky Way and Southern Cross, which are magnificent beyond words.

The accommodations and cuisine are outstanding, and always the best available in the areas we visit.

You'll experience Damaraland Camp, voted Africa's best eco-tourism resort, and will have an opportunity to look for rare desert elephants, black rhinos, and  other animals adapted to harsh desert terrain.  Enjoy the spectacular Epupa Falls and learn about the Himba tribe’s culture and traditions.  Epupa Falls was created by a tectonic fracture in the desert plateau, and it's the 2d largest waterfall in Southern Africa after Victoria Falls. Very few people have the opportunity to see Epupa Falls, unlike the crowds of tourists at Vic Falls.  Then enjoy fabulous aerial views of world-famous Etosha National Park, where you have a  chance to view  lions, elephants, and many diverse species.

At luxurious Ongava Camp, you'll explore central Etosha and can see both white and black rhino.  Okonjima is an extraordinary resort, predator rehabilitation center, and home of the Afri-Cat Foundation.  You are certain to see lions and cheetahs there, with a good chance to view leopards.

Himba Family

"The night sky in the bush is spectacular, worth the price of the trip.  Seeing the animals in the wild -- especially the elephants, giraffes, and lions
-- is a once in a lifetime thrill."     Norman C.

The Purpose of These Safaris

EcoVitality is a non-profit, tax-exempt environmental group set up to protect ecosystems and wildlife in remote rural areas of poor countries, where most of Earth's biodiversity is located.  Because most other conservation strategies have been failing, we're using an economic-incentives approach that helps people in poor areas get what they want, better economic welfare, in return for their help in getting what we want, conservation progress.

We're applying this economics approach by offering wildlife safaris and using the profits from the safaris to fund conservation programs in partnership with Afri-Leo Foundation of Namibia. Our eco-safaris are operated in partnership with Honeyguide Safaris, a professional tour-guide company run by "Hobby" Kreiner, one of Namibia's leading environmental
experts.
